A continuing care community (CCRC) is a senior living option that truly allows you to age in place.

What Is A Continuing Care Retirement Community
Sometimes referred to as “lifecare communities,” CCRCs offer a continuum of care that typically includes independent living, supportive living, short-term rehab services, and skilled nursing care. Most continuing care retirement communities require an entrance fee, and then charge a monthly fee for independent living. There is access to higher levels of care (supportive living and/or skilled nursing). The monthly fees for independent living generally only increase incrementally, as annual cost of living adjustments are made.

CCRCs Offer Flexibility And Peace Of Mind
Continuing care retirement communities offer both flexibility and peace of mind. You can start out in independent living (a requirement of most CCRCs), then potentially receive more assistance with daily tasks. The peace of mind comes with knowing that if you need supportive services, rehab care, skilled nursing, or even hospice care, you’ll be able to receive all of that – in the same building or on the same campus, with your friends and neighbors nearby.

Lasell Village
At Lasell Village, we have 182 independent living apartments, a supportive living environment (Lasell Studios), and a 38-bed skilled nursing facility (Lasell House). Located in Newton, Massachusetts, on the campus of Lasell University, we’re just 11 miles from downtown Boston. As a pet-friendly continuing care retirement community, we allow dogs and cats.

Lasell Village’s Continuing Care: How It Works

“We moved from our large Victorian home of 46 years into Lasell Village and find our lives are exactly what we wanted and needed. The people are friendly, smart, and interesting. The participation and education requirements are easy to fulfill with the wonderful, diverse classes and activities provided. It’s easy to make friends. The staff is charming and effective. When my husband got blood clots in and around his heart, we were able to use the fine services of Lasell House during his recovery. All the staff, nurses, PT, OT, and more were wonderful to him and to me. He left after 5 days rather than the 2+ weeks we were expecting. We love Lasell Village.”
