This beautiful new residential apartment building will offer 42 brand-new residences, conveniently located across from Town Hall. The building was named in honor of Jean McGuire, the first African American woman to sit on the Boston School Committee. Jean helped found the METCO program in the 1960s to help desegregate Boston schools by busing some city students to schools in suburban districts. She is a fierce advocate for educational reform and justice, she remains active in education and civil rights issues. All buildings at Lasell Village are named after influential educators.
