Supported Living vs Skilled Nursing Care

At Lasell Village, we’re a continuing care retirement community (CCRC). We offer independent living, supported living, and skilled nursing care – all on one campus.
When residents move into Lasell Village, they move into independent living apartments. We have 182 units, ranging from 640 square feet to 1,933 square feet. Meals, transportation, lifelong learning opportunities, and other amenities are included. But at some point, residents might need a higher level of support and care.
We offer this through Lasell Studios and Lasell House, and we’re often asked about the difference between supported living and skilled nursing.
Supported Living – Lasell Studios
If residents are no longer able to live independently, Lasell Studios is an option. In this supported living environment, residents with memory impairment or chronic health issues can receive the care they need. The continual support includes 3 meals per day, assistance with daily living, and 24-hour supervision.
Skilled Nursing Facility – Lasell House
Residents who need skilled nursing services can receive the care they need at Lasell House. Here, we provide skilled nursing for:
- rehab after an injury or surgery,
- illnesses
- acute health events
- for chronic health conditions
- hospice / End of Life
Our 38-bed skilled nursing facility has received a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
