Chief Financial Officer

POSITION SUMMARY:  

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as a key strategic and operational leader at Lasell Village, overseeing all core finance functions and select administrative areas critical to the Village’s performance and long-term sustainability. Reporting directly to the President of Lasell Village, the CFO is responsible for financial planning and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting, accounting and billing operations, accounts payable and payroll, compliance, contract management, and oversight of the outsourced IT function and legal partners.

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the CFO plays a central role in aligning financial strategy with organizational priorities, collaborating across departments to ensure operational excellence, and modeling Lasell Village’s values of unity, openness, growth, and joyfulness.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Strategy and Leadership

  • Lead the financial planning and analysis processes, including long-term forecasting, scenario modeling, capital budgeting, and board reporting.
  • Partner with the President, University leadership, and  advisors on strategic financial decision-making, including contract negotiations, cash flow management, and financing.
  • Serve as staff lead to the Board of Trustees’ Audit and Investment Committees and as a financial liaison to the Resident Finance Committee.
  • Collaborate with actuaries, auditors, and consultants to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and alignment with the Village’s financial objectives.
  • Oversee preparation of financial materials for resident, employee and trustee communications.

Finance Operations and Compliance

  • Supervise the business office team, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, resident billing, capital budget functions.
  • Oversee relationships with outsourced billing and IT vendors; ensure clear performance expectations, KPI monitoring, and accountability for service standards.
  • Ensure robust systems, policies, and procedures are in place to support efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and internal controls.
  • Act as Audit Engagement Coordinator by facilitating the annual financial audit, 403(B) audit, and workers’ compensation audit and ensuring timely preparation of regulatory filings, reports, and certifications.
  • Provide oversight of contract and legal review processes, coordinating with external counsel to ensure risk management, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead the Village’s procurement and purchasing strategy, ensuring that vendor relationships, contract terms, and purchasing practices are cost-effective, transparent, and aligned with organizational policies.

Technology and Systems Oversight

  • Provide administrative oversight of the Village’s IT function, which is delivered through a management contract with Lasell University.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the University’s technology team and outsourced IT vendors to ensure reliable systems support, secure data infrastructure, and ongoing digital improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with IT and purchasing teams to assess and approve capital technology purchases and infrastructure investments. 

Organizational Leadership and Collaboration

  • As a senior leader and ELT member, contribute to strategic planning, annual goal setting, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, learning, and shared accountability by modeling the ELT Operating Agreements and supporting peer collaboration.
  • Support operational functions in finance-adjacent areas (e.g., payroll, benefits administration, reporting) in close coordination with HR and other departments.
  • Attend Board, resident, and external stakeholder meetings, including occasional representation of the President.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree (MBA or related) and/or CPA strongly preferred.
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible financial and operational experience, with leadership experience in a nonprofit, healthcare, senior living, or higher education environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing financial operations and strategic planning, as well as leading teams through operational improvement.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and long-term care finance, or a commitment to learning the landscape.
  • Familiarity with enterprise systems such as MatrixCare or AOD preferred.
  • High proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and reporting tools.

Dining Services Director

Job description

The Dining Services Director will lead the dining experience at Lasell Village, shaping an inclusive, high-quality and community-centered culinary and hospitality culture that reflects our organizational values and the evolving needs of our residents and team members. With oversight of kitchen operations, dining room management, clinical and supportive care settings and new venues like the upcoming Bistro, this role calls for a dynamic leader who brings strategic insight, emotional intelligence, and a collaborative mindset. The Director will manage a team of four direct reports and manage dining service for approximately 240 residents. The Director will foster a culture of innovation, respect, and continuous improvement, guiding the team toward operational excellence and community connection.

  • Partner with clinical teams to align nutritional services with wellness and recover goals.

Financial & Resource Management

  • Build and manage department budgets, identifying opportunities for efficiency, innovation, and cost control.
  • Align financial decisions with organizational priorities, especially around sustainability, quality, and inclusion.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and adapt quickly to operational challenges.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work

  • Partner with leaders across Lasell House, Supported Living, Marketing, Resident Life, and Wellness to integrate dining into holistic resident experience.
  • Work with HR to recruit and onboard talent aligned with Lasell’s values.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to showcase dining innovations and events.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or related field (preferred).
  • 7 years in food and beverage leadership, ideally in senior living, hospitality, or healthcare.
  • Experience managing both back-of-house and front-of-house operations in a values-driven environment.

Leadership & Skills

  • Proven ability to unify and motivate diverse teams toward a shared vision.
  • Deep understanding of inclusive service models, hospitality trends, and aging-friendly dining.
  • Financial fluency in budget development, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort with technology tools (Word, Excel, POS systems, scheduling software).

Certifications

  • ServSafe Food Manager Certification required.
  • Dietary Manager Certification (CDM) or Registered Dietitian (a plus).

Work Schedule

  • Full-time, flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Must be present for community events and key service times.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and assist with dining room configurations when needed.

Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor / Housekeeper

POSITION SUMMARY: The primary purpose of your job position is to assist the Housekeeping Manager with managing the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing Lasell Village, to assure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner. Quality customer service is a top priority for everyone at the Village. Lasell Village is a Pet Friendly community.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the daily supervision and activities of the Housekeeping Department in conjunction with the Housekeeping Manager
  • Assist with inventory control, supplies, and keys.
  • Ensure laundry is completed and charges recorded.
  • Attend in-service training and staff meetings as directed or called.
  • Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments
  • Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned
  • Follow established fire safety policies and procedures
  • Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
  • Follow sanitation policies of the Village
  • Ensure that housekeepers carts are adequately stocked & organized with supplies to perform daily tasks
  • Keep director informed of supply needs
  • Report damage or safety issues to management in a timely
  • Maintain the confidentiality of resident information
  • Inform resident when it is necessary to move his/her personal possessions during cleaning procedures
  • Turn in all found articles to your manager
  • Works in all areas of the facility, including apartments with pets. You may be exposed to pet hair/dander.
  • Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary, as well as in other positions as needed
  • Is subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g. severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)
  • May be required to work on shifts other than the one for which hired. 

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two – three years of experience in a supervisory position, preferably in the janitorial field is required
  • High school diploma or GED required, college degree a plus
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish or Portuguese required
  • Must be proficient in Word and Outlook, Excel skills are a plus
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/staff, and the general public
  • Must be able to motivate, encourage and manage staff

Dining Room Server

We have open shifts in our Dining Room. The positions are ideal for students looking for flexible schedules and days, or those seeking a 2nd job. We have a no-tipping policy at Lasell Village.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve meals to our residents
  • Prepare meals-to-go and deliver to apartments in a timely manner
  • Set up dining room for service
  • Understand the dining room set up and table numbers
  • Be able to answer the phone and use a friendly tone while talking with residents and guests, take reservations, check messages
  • Greet residents and guests with a smile and a friendly tone
  • Walk guests to their assigned tables
  • Operate the POS system to enter customer orders and cash out all guests
  • Work together with other team members to ensure residents are served in a timely manner
  • Set up, stock, refill, and clean stations according to the opening and closing checklists
  • Assist in café serving operations in preparing food items
  • Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures

Health Care

Weekend Activities Assistant for Lasell House

POSITION SUMMARY:   Under direction of the Administrator and Activities Coordinator, conducts activities for all levels of functioning residents. Coordinates and implements routine duties and activities.  Quality customer service is a top priority for everyone at the Village. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of varying levels of activities for Nursing Home residents and rehab patients
  • Be aware of individual cognitive, emotional, and psychosocial impairments
  • Distribute daily newsletter and update room boards
  • Conducts one-on-one activity visits to offer sensory/social stimulation.
  • Conducts a variety of activity groups (creative activities such as arts, crafts, music, drama, educational activities, exercise activities, spiritual) to ensure residents make progress toward their goal
  • Assists with transporting, communicating and setting up for activity programs in Lasell House on a daily basis
  • Maintains confidentiality and protects sensitive Protected Health Information (PHI) at all times 

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-2 years direct experience working with the senior population
  • Associates Degree or higher

RESPONSIBILITIES:

PERSONAL ASSISTANCE & DAILY LIVING SUPPORT

  • Provide standby assistance with dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene as needed.

Assist with mobility support (helping residents move safely with walkers, canes, or wheelchairs).

  • Offer medication reminders (but not administer medications).
  • Assist with meal preparation, serving, and cleanup.
  • Support routine scheduling and appointment reminders.

LIGHT HOUSEKEEPING

  • General tidying of living areas, kitchens, and bathrooms.
  • Laundry and linen care (washing, folding, and changing bed linens).
  • Sweeping, vacuuming, and light mopping of common areas.
  • Dusting and wiping down surfaces, tables, and countertops.
  • Taking out trash and recycling as needed.
  • Watering houseplants upon request.

ANIMAL CARE

  • Refilling food and water bowls based on resident instructions.
  • Cleaning litter boxes and pet areas.
  • Walking small to medium-sized dogs and assisting with potty breaks.
  • Providing playtime and companionship to pets.
  • Basic grooming assistance (brushing fur, checking for cleanliness).

SOCIAL & LIFESTYLE ENGAGEMENT

  • Encouraging participation in community activities and social programs.
  • Providing companionship and conversation to promote emotional well-being.
  • Assisting with technology use (helping residents with phones, tablets, or video calls).
  • Supporting hobby-related activities based on resident interests.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Maintains a current certification in good standing as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Massachusetts or proof of completion of an approved Home Health Aide course.

JOB SKILLS:

  • Experience in elder care, home care, hospitality, or related field preferred.
  • Empathy, patience, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow individual service plans set by the resident or management.
  • Basic knowledge of senior wellness and safety precautions.
  • Comfortable working around pets and performing light housekeeping tasks.

Job Description:

Patient Care

  • Treat all residents fairly, with kindness, dignity and respect, provide nursing care in privacy
  • Maintains confidentiality and protects sensitive Protected Health Information (PHI) at all times
  • Provides patient care in a manner conductive to safety and comfort. Patient care includes, but is not limited to:
  • Keep patients dry (change gown and linens when wet or soiled)
  • Assist with meals and daily snacks as indicated
  • Assists patient with or performs Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
  • Obtains and records Vital Signs and weights per policy
  • Assists patients with ambulation and transfers

  • Feeds or assists patients with meals and provides additional nourishment and hydration per care plan
  • Maintain intake and output records as instructed
  • Answers call light or bell promptly delivers messages, cleans areas of spillage or accidents
  • Uses standard precautions when caring for all patients. Adheres to Contact and/or droplet precautions as indicated
  • Reports changes in patient’s condition, patient/family concerns or complaints to charge nurse and/or supervisor
  • Report all complaints and grievances made by the resident.

Requirements:

. Valid CNA certification

· A minimum of one year full-time or equivalent clinical experience.

· Knowledge of established best practices and standards of nursing care.

· Must relate confidentially, professionally, and positively with residents, families, and other employees at all levels.

· Must be able to work independently.

· Excellent verbal and written communication/critical thinking skills.
