The HR Business Partner is an integral part of the Human Resources department. An ideal candidate will handle a wide variety of HR duties to include recruiting, training & development, HRIS system maintenance, payroll, employee relations and benefit administration. Quality customer service is a top priority for everyone at the Village. This position is Monday through Friday onsite.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the full life cycle recruiting process
  • Responsible for onboarding and creating HR files
  • Assist with employee relations issues
  • Responsible for the Relias on-line training program for new and existing staff
  • Provide administrative support to the Chief People Officer
  • Manage the monthly fun calendar process, prepare calendar, schedule meetings with team
  • Collaborate and prepare monthly Staff Chronicles newsletter
  • Maintain staff directory and photos on Villagenet
  • Assist employees with questions about benefits, FMLA, Workers’ Compensation, and other policy issues
  • Process employee benefit changes and provide support regarding payroll and benefit issues
  • Work with CPO on Open Enrollment implementation, resolve any issues
  • Track employee performance reviews and send regular notifications to managers
  • Audit and file employee paperwork online and in their personnel folders, overall record maintenance

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required, preferably in a related field

Billing Coordinator

The Billing Coordinator is directly responsible for billing and accounting for all revenue at Lasell Village, including billing for independent living, supported living, and the skilled nursing facility (Medicare, Insurance, and private pay).

Providing quality customer service to residents, families, vendors and colleagues is a top priority for everyone at the Village.

We will consider a hybrid schedule for this position.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Compile and issue official census report for the SNF daily. Email information to appropriate individuals on a timely basis.
  • Prepare admissions and discharges of patients on a daily basis.
  • Prepare, setup, and maintain all new resident (and existing) files in the accounting system (AOD).
  • Enter all extra charges to accounts (independent, supported, in an accurate and timely manner (POS, user fees, private room differentials, housekeeping, maintenance, etc.).
  • Generate all medical billing for nursing home patients: Medicare Parts A & B, Co-insurance, and private pay on a timely basis. Utilize electronic submissions and remittances whenever feasible to speed up the billing and payment process.
  • Prepare all independent and supported living bills for residents on a timely basis. Resolve all discrepancies and answer all resident /family inquiries pleasantly, accurately and timely.
  • Manage A/R aging. Call on all outstanding accounts to obtain timely payments. Work out payment plans as necessary with the approval of the CFO.
  • Forward any payments received to the AP accountant who will deposit the check and provide posting info to the senior accountant for accurate posting to the G/L.
  • Answer documentation requests and appeal any denied claims on an as-needed (but aggressive) basis to maximize net revenue. Stay in constant contact with Medicare and Insurance companies to ensure timely receipt of payment. Involve CFP on an as-needed basis.
  • Update all bill codes and recurring charges as needed.
  • Ensure that all transactions that need adjustments are properly entered and reconciled each month.
  • Complete all Medicare Reports each quarter/annually as required by CMS.
  • Enter / Fix claims as needed in the CMS system & AOD system.
  • Assist CFO and Senior Accountant with keeping the monthly close process on track and on schedule, by closing the billing cycle as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Keep close track of long-term absence meal credits and ensure accurate posting to resident accounts.
  • Assist other Finance Office Staff on as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality and protects sensitive Protected Health Information (PHI) at all times.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS or BA degree or equivalent years of experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of medical billing experience in a skilled nursing facility – especially experience with Medicare and Insurance requirements.

Lifeguard

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility (pool deck area and locker rooms); acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency.
  • Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services, activates the Emergency Action Plan, appropriately.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 6 months to one-year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified;
  • Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid Certification
  • Water Aerobics Instructor certification preferred.

Resident Services Associate/ Driver

POSITION SUMMARY: The Resident Services Associate/Driver will be responsible for driving residents to the appointed destinations, ensuring the safety of the resident(s), knowing the protocol for emergencies, and being familiar with the local area and adjacent towns. When there is no driving assignment, the associate is responsible for assisting in other areas as needed. Quality customer service is a top priority for everyone at the Village.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet residents with a friendly smile, provide a hand/arm as needed to help the resident in and out of the car
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident care information to assure resident rights are protected
  • Assist with resident daily requests – Provide Lasell Village information for classes, events etc.
  • Perform Resident Services daily routine, driving, delivery of groceries/packages, copy making, other additional tasks
  • Experience driving a (14) passenger shuttle bus for weekly scheduled grocery store trips and/or scheduled OFF CAMPUS events – No CDL required
  • Retrieve transportation messages, return calls as needed, and book appointments as requested
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and willingness to learn new applications is a plus
  • Maintain all safety rules, laws of the road, seatbelts, hands free cell phone driving
  • Keep car in a clean and tidy condition, vehicle daily inspection, gas tank is at least half-full upon return to the Village at the end of the day
  • Inform Manager of any problems with vehicle

Cafe Prep Cook

Older Adult Day Program Facilitator

Lasell Village is a unique life plan community with education at its heart, located on the beautiful campus of Lasell University in Newton. We are a caring and vibrant community home to more than 225 residents in independent living apartments, supported living studios, and a 5-star skilled nursing and rehabilitative facility.

We are hiring a part-time Facilitator to work at The Village Club, our resident educational day program. The Facilitator will prepare and creatively implement programs to support residents’ interests. Each day of the Club is focused on opportunities for learning and socialization. Activities include exercise, art, classes in a range of topics, music, and conversation over a snack and lunch.

Although the Club is not limited to any subset of Village residents, most Club members are experiencing cognitive, physical, or social changes.

This is a part-time position with daytime hours on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Village Club Facilitator Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leading a daily program of mini-classes and other learning and socialization activities.
  • Designing lessons for members with a range of physical and cognitive abilities, respectful of their tastes as adult learners.
  • Creating a stimulating environment to support cognitive, emotional, and physical health and promote independence.
  • Adapting programming to members’ individual interests and abilities.
  • Collaborating with volunteers, staff, and vendors who present mini-classes.
  • Arranging with dining services for meals, snacks, and food-related programs.
  • Scheduling rooms for the Club.
  • Communicating the Club schedule.
  • Cueing members to attend other classes at the Village or providing escorts to/from the classes.
  • Cueing members regarding outside appointments.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Comfortable initiating and guiding group dialogue, including drawing in less active speakers.
  • Curious about people and the world.
  • Prior experience teaching in a traditional or non-traditional learning environment (school, university, museum, library, botanical garden, religious institution, cultural center, etc.) preferred.
  • Prior experience and interest in working with older adults.
  • Prior experience or training in dementia care or education for populations with special needs; Certified Dementia Practitioner certification or Special Needs Teacher License a plus.
  • Able to work autonomously, make decisions to adjust programming in the moment, and adapt to changing member situations.
  • Able to respond calmly to emergency situations, following Village protocol for contacting medical or emergency personnel as needed. Note: This is not a medical position and does not provide medical care.
  • Able to push occupied wheelchairs, including mild inclines.
  • Comfortable using MS Office and learning new computer systems on the job.

We are seeking a per diem Welcome Desk Associate who is customer service driven and interested in working with our wonderful residents. Our shifts include:

Monday – Sunday 7am to 3pm and 3pm to 11pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide excellent Customer Service, be helpful and informative

  • Answer telephone; determine nature of the call and direct caller to appropriate individual or department in a pleasant manner
  • Limited driving of residents in company vehicles required
  • Support mail services, including the receiving, shipping, and delivery of packages.
  • Monitor Carepoint Alarm system and respond appropriately to alerts
  • Give directions/information to visitors, guests, and residents
  • Receive requests within the facility and locate personnel
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information to assure resident rights are protected
  • Receive inquiries and release information in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Maintain lost and found items
  • Report suspicious persons/information to supervisor immediately
  • Receive and follow staffing schedule/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established policies and procedures
  • Enforce parking policy

SPECIFIC EDUCATION/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a high school diploma

  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Customer service experience preferred

Education Specialist

Lasell Village is a unique life plan community with education at its heart, located on the beautiful campus of Lasell University in Newton. The Education Specialist is a collaborative leader of intergenerational and educational programming, as well as the primary operational support for the Lasell Village Education Department. Daily, this position interfaces with Village staff, residents, and course leaders, and with Lasell University faculty, staff, and students. Working with University faculty and staff, as well as the Rosemary Fuss Center, the Specialist will support the selection of intergenerational courses and facilitate the creation of intergenerational modules. The Specialist will establish cooperative relationships with student organizations to create and support opportunities for increased socialization with the University. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as the initial point of contact for the Education and Programming office (greets all visitors and receives/returns phone calls).
  • Assists Dean of Education with semester planning, contacting faculty as needed.
  • Takes primary responsibility for resident registration process, from the publication of the course booklet, creation of registration forms, running the registration process and providing each resident with a printed record of their enrollment.
  • Ensures that each of the 3 semesters runs smoothly by maintaining updated class rosters and keeping faculty and teachers’ assistants informed of changes in enrollment.
  • Communicates Village and University programming to Village residents using the internal Lasell Village website, flyers, weekly newsletter, and email blasts.
  • Ensures that Village classes and events occur as scheduled on Zoom, on in-house closed-circuit TV, and in classroom settings.
  • Serves as a “thought-leader” and partner to the Dean to develop innovative education programs. Takes initiative and implements high-priority projects.
  • Supports faculty use of Village instructional technology (zoom and classroom equipment) and assists with course material distribution.
  • Works closely with the Senior Manager of Resident Experience, who manages the cultural and fitness elements of the education program.
  • Works with the Rosemary Fuss Center director to create, advertise and support intergenerational modules.
  • Works with appropriate administrators and faculty to select University classes to be designated as intergenerational, advertise, and enroll residents in these courses.
  • Works closely with Student Government Association representatives to encourage cross-generational social and/or professional events such as talent show, trivia, and mentoring.
  • Other duties as assigned

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree recommended
  • Minimum of 5 years of business office experience.

Education Administrative Assistant

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees resident completion of yearly education reporting, including organizing forms, tracking responses, and resident support.
  • Acts as primary coordinator for WorxHub room booking, scheduling events, approving others’ bookings, and identifying and resolving room-use conflicts.
  • Creates and maintains accurate listings of events and programs on the community’s internal website.
  • Operates semester course evaluations.
  • Maintains organized department data and completes file organization projects as directed by Dean of Education.
  • Supports good communication with residents regarding classes and programs, including creation of flyers and distribution of education and programming materials.
  • Responds appropriately and in a timely manner to mail and electronic communications.
  • Maintains confidentiality of residents’ records.
  • Assists the Education Specialist with the smooth implementation of Village classes and events whether by Zoom, in-house closed-circuit TV, or in classroom settings.
  • Sets up chairs and tables in classrooms to facilitate classes or programs.
